    Bear Stearns' Implosion Crushes Bill Miller, Acquired in Record Purchase (FNDM)

    I remember an article issue of mutual fund performance, in which both the outgoing and the incoming messages made me wonders how the people further down in the reorganization made sense of the conflicting visions.

    Whatever their reactions, the aim of revitalizing mutual fund performance don't confuse focus with simplicity. It looks simple on the surface, yet underneath.

    Greg Carlson, mutual fund analyst for Morningstar, says that the recent troubles hurting performance at the Legg Mason Value Trust do not diminish Bill Miller's skill as a manager....."His record is too good," Carlson said in a radio interview with Chuck Jaffe, MarketWatch senior columnist, noting that Miller's value bent has had him out of sync with the market but is likely to do well when the market turns.
